I like Jamie T very much. In a strange way he reminds me of  Mika. Of course Jamie T has a more indie audience, but he is special, too. He's not reminiscent of Mika in his style of music, but more of the Arctic Monkeys and Just Jack. But most important is that his music sends you to a specific place, and this is none other than England, and London in particular. There are moments listening to the 2nd cd of Jamie T, with the title Kings & Queens , that London Calling and the Clash come to mind. And that is in itself an achievement.

Now for the individual parts, ie songs, the cd opens with the 368, which is one of the best, but probably not for a single. Children vocals in chorus, performance reminiscent of Richard Ascroft of the Verve, very interesting rhythm, I'd compare it with the Every Glance of Jack Penate ( of course I do not like that much, but it comes close). Continues with the much rhythm and spunk of Hocus Pocus and with the Sticks 'n' Stones, which rightfully is the 1st single and could be successful. Also successful could be Castro Dies, and perhaps become a single later on.

Other songs that deserve special attention and will be much loved, are Earth, Wind and Fire, Chaka Demus, The Man's Machine, Spider's Web. As you can figure out, almost all the songs have been mentioned here, and with the rest of the songs create a very nice puzzle, a complete cd, intense and rhythmic, and lyrical and sometimes emotional.

The rhymes-lyrics are a unique piece and lift off the whole project. English till the end! One of the best of the season I think, though again it will not make the success that it deserves. Strange things...
