Ο Bruce Springsteen ήταν ο headliner στη χθεσινή, δεύτερη μέρα του Hard Rock Calling Festival, στο Hyde Park του Λονδίνου. Το "Αφεντικό" έπαιξε πάνω από 3 ώρες (195 λεπτά περίπου) και μάλιστα ανέβασε στη σκηνή τον Tom Morello των Rage against the machine και τον John Fogerty των Creedence Clearwater Revival.
Προς το τέλος του σετ, ο Springfield επεφύλαξε μια έκπληξη στους 80.000 ανθρώπους που ήταν εκείνη τη στιγμή στο Hyde Park. Ο sir Paul McCartney ανεβαίνει στη σκηνή και παίζει μαζί με τον Bruce τα 'I Saw Her Standing There' (τραγούδι των Beatles, που το έγραψαν ο Lennon και ο McCartney) και 'Twist And Shout' (διασκευή των Beatles στο τραγούδι των Phil Medley και Bert Russell.).
Κατά τη διάρκεια του encore, οι διοργανωτές κατέβασαν τα μικρόφωνα των Springsteen & McCartney, γιατί το όλο σετ είχε ξεπεράσει την κανονική διάρκεια του κατά μισή ώρα! Ο Steven Van ZandT, μέλος της E-street band του Springsteen αναρωτιόταν ποιους ενοχλούσαν που συνέχιζαν να παίζουν μουσική: "Is there just too much fun in the world? We would have been off by 11 if we'd done one more. On a Saturday night! Who were we disturbing?"
Η απάντηση της Live Nation είναι η ακόλουθη: "It was unfortunate that the three hour plus performance by Bruce Springsteen was stopped right at the very end but the curfew is laid down by the authorities in the interest of the public's health and safety. Road closures around Hyde Park are put in place at specific times to make sure everyone can exit the area in safety."
