The White Stripes are preparing to sue the U.S. Airways because last Sunday in an advertisement that was broadcast during the Super Bowl in favor of the war in Afghanistan a recording of ' Fell In Love With A Girl ' was used without permission.
Here is what the message of Jack and Meg said which was published on the group's official website: "... The White Stripes take strong insult and objection to the air force reserves presenting this advertisement with the implication that we licensed one of our songs to encourage recruitment during a war that we do not support.
The White Stripes supports this nation's military, at home and during times that our country needs and depends on them. We simply do not want to be a cog in the wheel of this current conflict and hope for speedy return home for our troops.
We have not licensed this song to the air force reserve and we plan to take strong action to stop the ad containing this music. »
