Bruce Springsteen offers to all of us 21 songs, we have never heard, in his new collection "The Promise: The Darkness on the Edge of Town Story". On November 16 he will release twenty-one new songs which were recorded during the "Darkness' was my 'samurai' record, stripped to
the frame and ready to rumble. But the music that got left behind was
substantial." said Bruce Springsteen.
This represents another collection (after those by Bob Dylan ) in which a great musician returns to his past and discovers unreleased recordings.
The collection will be released as a double CD or fourfold set of vinyl and will contain a special 80-page booklet with lyrics, original notes by Springsteen from that period ( As you can see in the relevant pictures) and other information on his fourth album. See in the videos below some statements as to the creation of the album, pictures from 1978 and hear one of his songs "The Promise" in an amazing performance by Springsteen on piano and percussion played on a pillow...
