Οι υποψήφιοι των 70ων βραβείων Emmy

Οι ηθοποιοί Samira Wiley ("The Handmaid’s Tale","Orange Is The New Black") και ο Ryan Eggold των "The Blacklist" και "New Amsterdam" παρουσίασαν προ ημερών τις υποψηφιότητες των φετινών βραβείων για τα τηλεοπτικά βραβεία Emmy.

Τη μερίδα του λέοντος στις υποψηφιότητες κατέχει και φέτος ο συνήθης ύποπτος, το "Game of Thrοnes", με 22 υποψηφιότητες, ενώ με μία λιγότερη ακολουθεί το έτερο μεγάλο τηλεοπτικό πρόγραμμα του HBO, το "Westworld". Ο νικητής των περσινών βραβείων, το δυστοπικό "Τhe Handmaid's Tale", επανέρχεται με 20 υποψηφιότητες, έχοντας διπλές και τριπλές υποψηφιότητες στις κατηγορίες των ερμηνειών. Η κατασκοπική ψυχροπολεμική σειρά του Joseph Weisberg, "Τhe Americans", φιλοδοξεί με την έκτη και τελευταία συγκλονιστική της σεζόν να αποκομίσει -επιτέλους- το βραβείο της Καλύτερης Δραματικής Σειράς, κάτι που δείχνει αρκετά πιθανό, αν αναλογιστεί κανείς πως οι υπόλοιπες σειρές της κατηγορίας δεν πρόσφεραν τα αναμενόμενα στο τηλεοπτικό κοινό με τις συνέχειές τους. Από την άλλη μεριά, το "American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace", η σειρά που έμελλε να είναι η τελευταία στην μακρόχρονη συνεργασία του Ryan Murphy με το FX, καθώς ο παραγωγός και σεναριογράφος πήρε μεταγραφή για το Netflix, έλαβε 18 υποψηφιότητες στις κατηγορίες των μίνι σειρών.

Στους «χαμένους» των βραβείων μπορούμε να τοποθετήσουμε τους David Lynch και David Fincher. Η επιστροφή στους τηλεοπτικούς δείκτες για τον πρώτο με την συνέχεια του "Twin Peaks" (μπορείτε να διαβάσετε την άποψη μας για το «παλιό» "Twin Peaks", εδώ) δεν φαίνεται να έπεισε να μέλη της Ακαδημίας που έδωσαν στην σειρά 9 υποψηφιότητες, δίχως όμως σ' αυτές να συμπεριλαμβάνεται κάποια υποψηφιότητα στις κατηγορίες ερμηνείας ή σ' εκείνη της Καλύτερης Δραματικής Σειράς. Στο ίδιο μήκος κύματος κινήθηκε και το "Mindhunter" του Fincher, το οποίο εάν και έχει κερδίσει την εμπιστοσύνη των συνδρομητών του Netflix δεν κατόρθωσε να την εξαργυρώσει σε υποψηφιότητες, έχοντας μονάχα 1.

Στις εκπλήξεις μπορούμε να εντάξουμε την απουσία του "Modern Family" από την λίστα των υποψηφιοτήτων, ύστερα από οκτώ έτη συνεχούς παρουσίας. Έχοντας, κατά συνέπεια, αποκλείσει έναν μεγάλο τηλεοπτικό αντίπαλο από την κούρσα, το βραβείο της Καλύτερης Κωμωδίας ίσως καταλήξει στα χέρια του Donald Glover για το “Atlanta”.

Στα αξιοσημειώτα των υποψηφιοτήτων πρέπει να επισημάνουμε μεταξύ άλλων, την πρωτοκαθεδρία των παλιών σειρών σε όλες τις κατηγορίες έναντι των ελάχιστων καινούργιων σειρών (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”, “Barry”) που διεκδικούν κάποιο βραβείο. Δεύτερον, την «ήττα» του ΗΒΟ από το Netflix, με το δεύτερο να κερδίζει 112 υποψηφιότητες έναντι 108 του πρώτου. Και τέλος, την υποψηφιότητα της Sandra Oh ("Grey's Anatomy") για την ερμηνεία της στην σειρά “Killing Eve”, γεγονός που την κάνει την πρώτη ηθοποιό ασιατικής καταγωγής που διεκδικεί Emmy.

H τελετή απονομής θα διεξαχθεί στις 17 Σεπτεμβρίου στο Microsoft Theater του Λος Άντζελες με οικοδεσπότες δύο από τους κωμικούς συγγραφείς του "Saturday Night Live (SNL)", τους Colin Jost και Michael Che.
