In a mail to the friends of the band, Larry Gott, guitarist of James , told us that the new album is expected in the new year.

Thus, after the summer tour, James are entering the studio for the rest of the year and compose their ideas with the goal to release the next album in 2010.

As I have written in an old article, James offer a free song ("Not so strong"), which has not been released in an album, but they've played almost in every concert.

Read the following mail by Larry Gott :

Hello you lovely lot,

Hope you're all enjoyin' the new track Not So Strong, which hopefully everyone has been able to download.

We hope you all enjoyed the gigs and festivals this year, both at home and abroad? And a special hello to all our new Polish friends - it was our first visit there and we really enjoyed ourselves playing with The Killers and The Streets!

Going forward, the rest of the year will be spent getting new tracks together which are coming along nicely. We are all beavering away in our respective workstations (how hi-tech are we!) laying down our parts for Lee ('Muddy' Baker) who is at the helm again, to incorporate into the backing tracks already recorded.

'All very well and good,' I hear you say, 'but when the **** can we hear these new tracks?'. Well hopefully they will be ready for release in the New Year.

Stay tuned to this channel for further updates on our progress and to make sure you're the first to hear of any exclusive previews/downloads, etc.

I personally will be skiving off from recording for a day on the 1st October, when I'm going to be to leaping out of a plane strapped to a Red Devil, and hoping to raise some money for Disability Snowsport UK whilst I'm at it. If any of you kind souls would like to help me reach my sponsorship target then please visit justgiving.com/larrygott...

It would be lovely if you left a message along with any donation (large or small :-)) so I can name check you personally when I post my thanks afterwards on the wearejames.com forum. There is also more information posted there explaining why I've chosen to support this particular charity.

With all this recording and jumpin' out of planes I still haven't had time to sort out my photo blog covering the summer's gigs and festivals. I apologise profusely and promise they will be up soon. (IF he survives the jump, that is. - Ed.)

Fond regards,
Larry.
