JasonLytle The festive season of Christmas has almost arrived and Jason Lytle, former singer  of  Grandaddy, has a gift to get us to the proper mood.

He has prepared then a Christmas album with seven tracks improvised on piano entitled  'Merry X-Mas 2009'  and anyone interested can download it free from his website.

This is how he describes it: "I set up some microphones and recorded about 35 minutes of improvisational piano music," Lytle explained. "It just so happens that playing my piano at home is one of my favourite things to do (in terms of music) so it was nice to be able to capture some of these moments of me playing aimlessly and relaxed."

"I am currently at work on a new album," he explained. "And although I'm quite sure none of the songs will end up on the radio... I'm guaranteeing that this will be the weirdest, most wonderful mayhem I have made yet."

The music contained in 'Merry X-Mas 2009', and can be downloaded from here , are:                                                                                                           'Last Conversation In Waltz Time'
'Wild Animals Slowly Approaching The Lovely Country Funeral'
'Out Cold On Indian Ambien '
' Meeshell '
' Good Chord Song For LP Two '
' Bird Feeder Soap Opera Plot '
' SepDecember Song '

Apart from the Christmas album, Jason informs us that he is preparing the second solo album after this year 'Yours Truly, The Commuter': "I am currently working on the new album. And although I am almost sure that none of these songs will be played on the radio... I guarantee that it is the strangest, most beautiful carnage I have ever done."
