Flow Festival continues its collaboration with Resident Advisor, the world's leading online media for electronic music. The Resident Advisor Backyard will include the stylings of global electronic music greats, and the Flow vibes will be forever captured as part of their popular festival video series. The online hub has turned its eye on Helsinki as an interesting city to visit in general, and will organize a club series called RA in Residence at the Kaiku club in July, 2016.
At Flow Festival's Resident Advisor Backyard, club rhythm lovers will be treated by a squad of inimitable disc-spinning talents: Barcelonian DJ and producer John Talabot with his midway sound between underground and arena; German electronic music wunderkinds Roman Flügel and Helena Hauff; DJ and musician The Black Madonna from Chicago; and vocalist, producer, DJ, and New Yorker Kim Ann Foxman. In addition, Israeli house, disco, and techno producer duo Red Axes will be seen live and on location at Flow.
Domestic Backyard bookings include international successes Lil Tony, Kristiina Männikkö, Katerina, and Trevor Deep Jr. with their banging live set. These musical magistrates are all familiar to fans of Helsinki's Kaiku and Ääniwalli clubs, as are DJ favorites Fummer, JL, and Sansibar. And that's not all: fiery hot producer and English-language rap sensation Noah Kin will perform a DJ gig at Flow, while winning synth pop duo Villa Nah will bring their art to the festival live.
Flow Festival announcements included the two-person DJ team Wooden Wisdom, but they will unfortunately have to cancel all of their summertime gigs — including Flow — due to movie filming issues.
Other previously confirmed acts at Flow Festival include Sia, New Order, Massive Attack, Iggy Pop, The Last Shadow Puppets, Jamie xx, M83, Chvrches, Descendents, Four Tet, Hercules & Love Affair and many others.
Flow Festival is held in Helsinki's Suvilahti on August 12.–14.
