Kim Gordon @ Primavera  A brief reply to our letter  from Beba Naveira  from the Press Office of the  Primavera Sound Festival  to the general question of  Mix Grill  on how to tackle bad weather during the Festival.

After all, the Primavera Sound Festival takes place every year by the year  2001 in Barcelona, Spain and is well known in Greek fans, who have visited it over the past years. This year's Primavera raised a total of 80.600 people (record for the Festival), who chose primarily (76,000) Parc Del Forum with six stages and the other eight stages, which were in the Center of Barcelona .

Some of the names of this year were certainly Neil Young and Sonic Youth, and My Bloody Valentine, Bat for Lashes, Horrors, Throwing Muses, Jarvis Cocker, Deerhunter, Yo La Tengo, etc. More details on what happened this year in Primavera Sound Festival  here and here .

Let's see now what Beba Naveira answered
:

"In Spain we are not very worried about the whether since here the most we can have is rain and some wind, which is not enough reason to a festival to be cancelled.

However, the do a few things:

Neil Young @ Primavera- We start checking the whether pronostics with an expert one week before de festival
- We sell raincoats at the merchandising point at an afordable price."

Mix Grill had a new contact with the Primavera , with 6 specific questions without having  an answer yet. If this happens, we will let you know immediately.

Regarding the above, unfortunately rain and wind in Greece have deprived us from  attending important gigs, such as Nick Cave's , Madrugada's (in Rockwave of 2001), the White Stripes' (in the G-Fest 2005) and of course the recent canceled.

On the contrary, as you read above, during the Primavera Sound Festival in 2003 it rained endlessly  for 24 hours a day and even more, it got heavier over the course of the performance of Mogwai . Even in 2008, rain "reappeared" during the Festival. Watch the video below and the reaction of the people, as it rained:
