From the Press Release
White Lies - RITUAL
The second studio album by the British alternative rock band White Lies, titled "Ritual" with ten epic songs full of adrenaline and excitement, claustrophobic beats, industrial and electronic, psychedelic moments and incredible choir to illustrate with dramatic euphoria their experiences and their nightmares about love and life.
By Alan Moulder (Smashing Pumpkins, My Bloody Valentine, Nine Inch Nails) in production who makes the sound of White Lies even bigger than what we knew, with exploding guitars and the voice of Harry McVeigh to remind you of sometimes a melancholic crooner, sometimes a baritone in dangerous Blade Runner atmospheres, with the drums by Jack Lawrence-Brown moving in caustic, creepy rhythms and bassist and lyricist Charles Cave solos with simple, dark words...
Ritual is an album with ten songs that sounds as it really should. Different from the first album by the White Lies, "To Lose My Life" which brought them to top the British charts and sold nearly 1 million copies. As strong, simple and heartbreaking as those really "Bigger Than Us", just as promised with their first single, an stadium rock epic with a somewhat bizarre video clip, inspired by science fiction...
