They could release the album in 1 month so as to give out songs one by one and also to promote their work with several interviews to the media. They could send the album to major media for the corresponding reviews.
On Monday morning, they chose to announce that their new releases will be available in 5 days, tomorrow, Saturday! Out of the blue ...
The www.radiohead.com was sending friends of the band to a new page where they could order the newspaper or the digital version of "The King of Limbs", without any further information. The band's managers said that everyone should hear at the same time on Saturday the new songs of Radiohead.
On the same day, atease (fan site of Radiohead) discovers that the site where orders are placed in Japan wrote that on Saturday 8 songs would be received by those who pre-order. Eighth album of Radiohead, perhaps for that reason there are only 8 songs? Within minutes the Japanese removed it from the site above (which was written in Japanese).
As we wrote on Monday : " The name of the album associated with a forest of oak Savernake Wiltshire, which is believed to be about 1,000 years. The forest is three miles away from Tottenham House, a restored house where Radiohead recorded a piece « In Rainbows » (2007). " So on Tuesday they published a photo under this oak. Nothing more, nothing less.
On Wednesday, they write in their Twitter in Japanese as follows:" Hachiko Square Shibuya, Friday 18:59 ". Everyone thought that it would rather be about a mystical appearance of the band in Tokyo, Japan. We'll find out this, of course, in a few minutes, because this time is 6:20 PM (7 hours ahead).
Update 11:35 : Just announced that it will be a band concert in Tokyo.
So all of this has caused people around the world taking notice of the news on Radiohead, wether they like the band or not, and they are all waiting to hear "The King of Limbs" and see the reactions of friends of the band.
And there we were preparing to write the potential songs of Radiohead, according to the few appearances and those of Thom Yorke in 2010, there comes an article in the magazine Vice , which made its first review of the "The King of Limbs". At last, the review was fake.
Update 12:25 : A few minutes ago, Radiohead staged at their YouTube Channel (and wrote in Twitter ) that the official video for first single of "The King of Limbs" is titled "Lotus Flower", in production and direction of Garth Jennings.
Thom Yorke played for the first time "Lotus Flower" with the Atoms for Peace on October 2, 2009. This is a very good song nevertheless! rhythmic with the well known beautiful melodies of Radiohead. Listen below and tell us your opinion.
Update 13:10 : It was just announced that the band decided to give "The King of Limbs" a day before the scheduled launch of the digital version. Go here and buy it or download it if you've already ordered.
Update 13:39 : Just download the "The King of Limbs". The tracklisting has nothing to do with what Vice raised published. Eventually 8 songs (the same number with their records) and is essentially the album with as few songs as ever released by Radiohead:
