In between concerts with the Bad Seeds, soundtrack compositions for movies (The Road) and writing and promoting his new book, the busy Mr. Nick Cave managed to complete the recording of the new album by Grinderman to be released in 2010.

According to his close associate of recent years Warren Ellis , for this new album Grinderman made a conscious effort to be very different from both the 'Dig, Lazarus, Dig !!!' and the first, homonymous album. As he said in a recent interview: "The attitude is similar but in the sound some very strange things are happening. Perhaps it is more crowded than the first, perhaps we learned to play our instruments a little more ... It sounds a bit like stoner rock meets Sly Stone through Amon Duul ... As Nick tries different things in the lyrics of what he would do for the Bad Seeds ... It's Psychedelic and I think it is amazing ».

Meanwhile, Cave's appearances to promote his book 'The Death Of Bunny Munro' give him a chance to reconnect with old friends and colleagues.

First the unexpected duet with Polly Jean Harvey at Palace Theater London on 11/10/2009. During questions from the public, a girl asked him if Polly was here, if he would ask her to sing together. Harvey was sitting in one of the galleries, without Cave having seen her until that time, the she waived at him and Nick said that he would like that very much but only if she wanted it and so they went to the scene to sing together 'Henry Lee' from 'Murder Ballads' .
Noteworthy was that the concert that day had started with 'West Country Girl' , which was written by Cave for her after the end of their short relationship.

The second reunion was held on October 17 in Hamburg, Germany and this time it was his old friend Blixa Bargeld, who has left the Bad Seeds since 2003. Blixa, reciting the German audiobook version of 'The Death Of Bunny Munro', accompanied Cave on scene where they read excerpts from the book in English and German and had the opportunity to sing along the famous 'Weeping song' .
