And now the band is preparing a new album which we hope will be so good as to be included in lists of the new decade.
Arcade Fire have spent the last six months in the studio preparing their third album with producer Markus Dravs , with whom they had worked in the previous album from 2007, 'Neon Bible'.
The album is scheduled for release in May 2010 with the first single to make its appearance earlier, early next year and concerts to promote the album will begin in the spring.
According to the scant information leaking from the recordings, the new material is "happier" than the 'Neon Bible' and participating was a string orchestra with musicians trained at the famous music school of Julliard.
Update (4/12, 10:30): While yesterday's reports informed us that the Arcade Fire album will be released in May, today a representative of the band said the album will be released sometime in 2010, but rather the second half of the year, and stated that Markus Dravs does not produce the album but is one of three sound engineers working on the recording.
