I walked quickly in the STUDIO because Richard Lloyd the unique legendary persona of TELEVISION was already waiting for me at the other end of the line from New York.
I was thrilled because while talking to him I felt like talking to a very good friend after all. The same straight forward and genuine (as interlocutor) .. as in the albums.
Hilarious certainly must be his interesting stories about the great CBGB and the spirit of the times of Television, but most piqued my interest his soon to be prepared book (I imagine stories ..*) but also his new job over the great Jimmy Hendrix .
It seems obvious that it's hard to see him once again on the side of Tom Verlaine as he obviously sounded bitter about this strong (but productive...)connection .. But again, who knows ...
In any case, along with the RAMONES, TALKING HEADS, PATTI SMITH and a few more set the tone of an era ... which seems also clear on several of the newer groups of New York .. and not only ....
Now, if you want to know why someone is not willing to travel to Moscow .. (next station of a major tour ..) pick one of the following:
A / cold
B / it's far away
C / one is sleepy ...
or listen to the interview ... But Richard IS right to feel sad ..
