The series of reissues of REM albums for the 25th anniversary since their first release is continuing and this year it's 'Fables of the Reconstruction' turn (from 1985) to appeare on the shelves of music stores in a special edition.
The digitally remastered reissue of the album will be released on double CD, 180 grams vinyl and of course for download. The vinyl version will contain only the original tracks of 'Fables of the Reconstruction', but the double CD and the download version will be accompanied by 'The Athens Demos' with 14 extra songs. These tracks were recorded before REM entered the studio for the recording of 'Fables' and include an unreleased track, 'Throw Those Trolls Away'. The reissue will also have new liner notes by Peter Buck, while the CD will also contain postcards and a poster.
