TrailofDead The latest work by the Texans was released in 2009... And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead, "The Century of Self", and will shortly have finished their seventh album.

The album will be called "Tao of the Dead" and will be released in the U.S. on February 8th by the  group company Richter Scale Records. Produced by Chris "Frenchie" Smith and Chris Coady (producer also of Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Beach House) and the first single from the album will be "Summer of All Dead Souls ".

According to the words of the singer of the group Conrad Keely in Spin, the purpose of the group was to record a coherent album, which looks like a straight piece or a symphony, in agreement with the albums of prog rock. With this in mind the record is divided into two parts, the first part consisting of 11 songs and the second is
one 16minute piece divided into 6 sections.

Another interesting information about "Tao of the Dead" is that the booklet accompanying the CD is the beginning of a science fiction comic prepared by Keely and probably will be released shortly after the album.

The titles of the songs in "Tao of the Dead" are:

01 Introduction: Let Us Experiment
02 Pure Radio Cosplay
03 Summer of All Dead Souls
04 Cover the Days Like a Tidal Wave
05 Fall of the Empire
06 The Wasteland
07 Spiral Jetty
08 How Much Fun
09 Pure Radio Cosplay (Reprise)
10 Ebb Away
11 Somewhere Over the Double Rainbow
12 Tao of the Dead Part II: The Ship Impossible (Know Your Honor / Rule bay Being Just / The Ship Impossible / My Perfect Day / Racing and Hunting)
