PapercutPast Autumn I heard on the radio a very special and unique piece. Initially I couldn't remember the artist but I was lucky because the radio-producer just as excited as me,  repeated this masterpiece several times so the next time I had all the necessary info.

It was The Clouds by Papercut...
Well I said time for research...

Papercut is the debut album of Papercut (aka Bill Nakis) which was released a few days before Christmas from The Sound of Everything.

It recently arrived in my hands and I am very happy.
You'll understand why.

It consists of 12 songs that blend very harmoniously with their beautiful melodies and vocals mixed in such a way that does not go unnoticed in any case.

The sound of Papercut, we'ld say, is basically electronic but also ambient and melancholy. It has nothing to do with electronic music that some of you may tire of or alienate from. On the contrary listening to it you will be totally relaxed and indulge in delicious imaginary journeys. Some pieces even could, in my opinion, very well "dress" a musical movie in the cinema with a unique way.

Papercut Let us see what each piece has separately. The beginning is with A Dream that is really a dream and the best intro to lure you to listen to the songs that follow. Next in order is Morning Blues that may be the ideal way to start our day with the sound of the piano to make us forget a little the hard everyday reality. Then is Black Dog accompanied by the wonderful voice of Jannie Kapadai. After that is Here I AM with the amazing vocals of Vallia Lagoudaki and we slowly realize that this work has garnered very talented and remarkable artists. Then is My Melody true to its name, The Clouds that contains a sample of the song Tonight we separate with the great voice of Kate Belinda and as I mentioned earlier is the part that is responsible for the presentation.

After having heard the beautiful Paper Sun and Turn Ôhe Tables we arrive at He Loves Me, She Loves Me Not a fairly rhythmic and contemporary piece as far as the lyrics go. Returning from our short trip to the moon Voyage Dans La Lune we give an end to our relationship End of Love A Affair with the help of Anna Tarmpa in this song. This beautiful work closes with Ocean Of Sound where you can hear once again how beautifully blends the sound of keyboard and violin by Matina Throumoulopoulou.

There are few artists who manage to show us such a remarkable work. Papercut is not a cd that will make your notice 2 songs and that's all. Each piece is better than the last. It is obvious that there has been very serious work on all levels. It is a cd you will love not only for the premium content, but also for the very nice work on the cover by Irene Michopoulou.

I hope it will have the success it deserves and to hear more often such great albums.
