Two months remain until the opening day of Primavera Sound Festival 2011. One of the biggest festivals in Europe takes place in one of the most beautiful cities, Barcelona.

Two months remain until the opening day of Primavera Sound Festival 2011. One of the biggest festivals in Europe takes place in one of the most beautiful cities, Barcelona. Beginning in 2001 and for those 10 years has hosted some of the biggest names in the world music scene. Last year, more than 100,000 people attended the festival!

This year the festival will last for 5 days and will be divided into 2 parts. The concerts on Wednesday, the 25th and Sunday May 29 will be held in the outdoors space of Pablo Espanyol museum, on Montjuic hill, while the remaining days on Parc Del Forum, located 6 km from the center of the city.

Let us examine in detail the program of each day.

Wednesday, 25 May
The first day of the festival Caribou and Echo And The Bunnymen
stand out, they'll play their entire Heaven Up Here And Crocodiles album.

Thursday, 26 May

For the second day we have the very good Flaming Lips and Sufjan Stevens, who are quite known for the special concerts they give. Nick Cave will be appearing together with Grinderman. Also, on the line-up are Interpol, Public Image Limited, Suicide, The Walkmen, Of Montreal and Caribou.



Friday 27 May


After 10 years of absence, Pulp reunite and will play together again. Also appearing are Sufjan Stevens (for the second time), Belle And Sebastian, The National, Explosions In The Sky, Avi Buffalo, James Blake, Battles, Fiery Furnaces, Monochrome Set and Field Music.



Saturday 28 May

The best day of the festival. Animal Collective with the best album for 2009 according to many music critics and PJ Harvey, having in her luggage, the album that stands out so far for us this year, is ready to offer us an unforgettable experience. With them also, Fleet Foxes, Mercury Rev, DJ Shadow, Mogwai, Yuck, Warpaint, Kurt Vile, John Cale & Band, Einsturzende Neubauten, Kurt Vile and Gonjasufi.


Sunday 29 May


The festival ends with Mercury Rev, who will play form their album Deserter's Songs and Vaccines, who are one of the most promising new names in the British music scene.

The ticket for all 5 days costs 175 euro and those who buy it will also have access to the concerts that will be held at Poble Espanyol. On the contrary daily tickets on 26, 27 and 28 cost 70 euros/day.
