Duran Duran, were forced into rescheduling their European summer tour and among them the concert in Thessaloniki (26 July) and Cyprus (1 August).

Because of ongoing problems with the voice of the singer of the band Simon Le Bon, Duran Duran decided to cancel all their summer performances. Below is the press release.

Press Release for concert in Thessaloniki

POSTPONED THE EUROPEAN TOUR OF DURAN DURAN
AND THEIR CONCERT IN THESSALONIKI
WHICH WAS SCHEDULED FOR JULY 26

The Duran Duran with the relevant announcement below, are forced to postpone their tour across Europe from today and cancel all their summer concerts. Unfortunately that includes the long-awaited concert in Thessaloniki on July 26.

The reason that led the band to take this decision are the serious problems with the voice of the singer of the band, Simon Le Bon, who must follow a specific treatment for a short period to be strong and perfectly healthy
again to continue their tour.
Based on the announcement that
the band sent they will soon announce new dates and will give a comprehensive program to compensate the countless fans in all the cities - stations of the originally scheduled tour.

Those who have already purchased their tickets for the concert in Thessaloniki, they can be reimbursed in the box offices. Also, those who want can expect the announcement of new date and keep their tickets for the concert, as they'll be valid.

Press release for the concert in Cyprus

The decision was made with the band as they thought that it would not be fair for fans to
not have the opportunity to enjoy Duran Duran and the main frontman Simon Le Von, in full form!

However, based on the following communication from them, they renew their appointment with the public very soon, since there is a particular need for Duran Duran to come back on stage and to compensate the public that anxiously awaits them!

In the next few days, an announcement will be made on the new dates and reimbursement of tickets for the show in Cyprus for those who wish to, given that many fans of Duran Duran visit the island of Cyprus, especially during the summer season. For more information stay tuned to www.spicyentertainment.gr at www.123merch.gr and the media where they will announce all the details.

Here is the announcement of the band:

The British rock band Duran Duran announced today that it is forced to cancel their upcoming European summer tour, which was scheduled to begin Thursday, July 14 in Dublin, Ireland and will run until mid-September because of the continuous voice problems of the band's singer Simon Le Bon. Doctors believe that Le Bon injured muscles that control the vocal chords during a show in Cannes in early May 2011, causing temporary loss of part of the vocal range. By continuing physiotherapy and a strict treatment plan, the medical team are confident that the singer will return to full form soon, but since this particular time can not be predicted, are postponing the European concert to avoid the disappointment of fans in the last minute.

The band members are disappointed with the news of cancellation of scheduled concerts and try to reprogram as many dates later this year or early 2012. While waiting for Simon to recover fully, they're working together in the studio, rehearsing, to contribute to the healing process.

The postponement of 'All You Need Is Now World Tour', in support of the thirteenth album, is only the second time in the thirty year long path that the band is forced to postpone a number of appearances for health reasons. Today's
decision was a difficult one and Simon's health has shown tremendous improvement since the incident a few weeks ago in France and feels that he will return 100% strong. The band members do not want to postpone or cancel the concerts in the last minute and realize how difficult it is for fans and teams responsible for promoting the concerts. In light of this thought, they decided to postpone the entire summer part of the European tour and will not schedule new dates until the voice of Simon Le Bon is fully restored.

The full schedule of upcoming European tour is below. We hope to re possible more days and we encourage fans to keep their tickets which will be valid in the new dates. Details will be announced immediately as the band will secure the premises of the new dates in www.duranduran.com , and on the websites of local organizers.
