strokes Strokes started recording again this week on their fourth album at Avatar Studios in New York, after the rather unsuccessful efforts last year. Production  is undertaken by Joe Chiccarelli  who has worked with U2, Beck and Bjork.

The last album of the Strokes was 'First Impressions of Earth' 2006 and since that time guitarist Albert Hammond, Jr. has prepared 2 personal records ('Yours to Keep', 2006 and '¿Cómo Te Llama?', 2008) and the singer Julian Casablancas one, 'Phrazes for the Young' released 2 months ago.

garbage There's indication that Garbage are preparing a new album. In a message to the fans of the group on its Facebook home page, Shirley Manson hinted that the members of the group have gone in the studio to prepare their next album after 'Bleed Like Me' in 2005.

Manson wrote: "Guess who I just spent a week in the studio with? Would you be pleased if I said one of them was called Steve and one of them was called Duke and another was a Grammy-winning producer?" and we presume she is referring to Steve Marker, Duke Erikson and Butch Vig that produced '21st Century Breakdown' of Green Day that just 2 days ago won the Grammy Award for best rock album.
