Flow Festival will feature Anohni, best known for her work as the singer and songwriter for Antony and the Johnsons. Her new album, Hopelessness, which she produced with Hudson Mohawke and Oneohtrix Point Never, comes out in May and combines an electronic dance soundtrack with soulful vocals and direct lyrics addressing surveillance, drone warfare, and ecocide. Oneohtrix Point Never will join Anohni on stage at Flow.
Other bands heading to Suvilahti include British postpunk band Savages, who just released their new album Adore Life to great praise, as well as Dua Lipa, a new artist with a debut album slated for later this year and a hit single under her belt with Be The One. She did quite well on BBC's Sound of 2016 list, too. New bookings include Finnish rap trio Ruger Hauer, who will be joined on stage by Regina, an electro pop group who played on the rappers' latest album Mature. The album charted at number one in Finland in its first week.
