Flow Festival and Make Your Mark Gallery present the colourful and outgoing work of Ben Eine. Famed for his big and bright alphabet pieces, his work has featured on the walls and doors around the blocks of e.g. Shoreditch, Brick Lane and Broadway Market. The experienced screen printer and graffiti artist shot to international mainstream fame in 2010, when the UK Prime Minister David Cameron gave one of Eine’s alphabet pieces to U.S. President Barack Obama as gift on his first official visit to Washington D.C. Called the most productive living artist, Eine’s work is currently held in collections in London, Los Angeles, The Museum of Modern Art, The V&A and galleries worldwide.

The mural Ben Eine will create in Helsinki is a part of a huge painting that covers a whole factory building wall at Flow Festival. The factory building is now used for the first time as part of Flow, housing an indoor food bazaar featuring eight food vendors, the new Zalando Factory live venue and a bar.

Wide arts program lined up for Flow Festival

The collaboration that started last year between Flow Festival and the University of the Arts Helsinki will continue with cross-disciplinary art spread all around the festival area. Program includes the Visual Artist of the Year – a Flow tradition, allowing the chosen artist or artists to produce a largescale commissioned work. The visual artists of the 2016, Laura Gustafsson and Terike Haapoja, will present work that creates a utopia characterised by the equality between people and other animals.
