Last night was the broadcast for the 52nd Grammy Awards and through the endless categories we highlighted some known and loved names that have managed to be distinguished from the American Academy of music (actually National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences).
So our friends, the Kings Of Leon managed to win 3 awards with 'Use Somebody', Best Rock Song, Best Rock Performance by a duo or group and, most importantly, Best Song of the year, leaving behind Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and The Black Eyed Peas.
Caleb Followill , as a true rocker, accepted the award with the words: "I will not lie to you, we are all a little drunk. But we are happy drunk."
We also noted French Phoenix who won the Award for Best Alternative Album for 'Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix', Green Day who received the Award for Rock Album of the Year for '21st Century Breakdown', Rock Solo Interpretation won by Bruce Springsteen for 'Working on a Dream', Hard Rock and Metal Performance by AC/DC ('War Machine') and Judas Priest ('Dissident Aggressor'), respectively.
For the first time in his long career Neil Young won the Grammy for ... Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package!
Finally the award for best new artist unfortunately didn't go to MGMT or Silversun Pickups but to the country group Zac Brown Band.
