Today, our musical walk puts you back in the fields of love and its various expressions - the title speaks for itself.

1. Lovers Town Revisited – Billy Bragg
(Billy Bragg)
This short song comes from the first studio album by the great British musician and activist Billy Bragg, the exceptional Life’s A Riot With Spy Vs Spy in 1983. The title is rather misleading, as the message this song carries is anything but erotic...

2. She’s Your Lover Now – Bob Dylan
(Bob Dylan)
Strangely, this excellent song was not included in any of Dylan's studio albums. It was recorded with Rick Danko, Levon Helm, Robbie Robertson (then known as The Hawks, later as The Band), Al Cooper and Paul Griffin in January 1966 in New York and remained unreleased until 1991, when it found its place in the compilation The Bootleg Series Volumes 1-3 (Rare And Unreleased) 1961-1991.

3. My Lover’s Gone – Dido
(Dido Armstrong-Jamie Catto)
A heart-breaking ballad from Dido's debut, No Angel (1999). It is dominated by her airy vocals and the transparent, atmospheric instrumentation.

4. I’d Rather Be Your Lover – Madonna
(Madonna-Dave Hall-Isley Brothers-Christopher Jasper)
This column loves Madonna, although it has not been that obvious until now. The album Bedtime Stories in 1994 is one of my favorites by her and this song is a very good example of funky pop.

5. Two Lovers – Eartha Kitt
(John Rox)
Orson Welles once  called Eartha Kitt "the most exciting woman in the world" - he must have known. Here we can listen to her singing the song that comprised the second side of the single Uska Dara – A Turkish Tale (1953).

6. My Lover’s Box – Garbage
(Shirley Manson-Duke Erikson-Steve Marker-Butch Vig)
“Send me an angel to love/ I’m afraid I’ll never get to heaven” sings Shirley Manson with her personal style, in this song from the debut by the Garbage, released in 1995.

7. Lover, Lover – James Iha
(James Iha)
Do you remember the former guitarist of The Smashing Pumpkins? In 1998 he released his first and only solo album, entitled Let It Come Down. Strangely enough, it only included acoustic songs in a country style, like this one.

8. Lover, You Should’ve Come Over – Jeff Buckley
(Jeff Buckley)
Jeff Buckley was inspired for this song by the end of his relationship with the American musician and actress Rebecca Moore. You can find it in the album Grace (1994).

9. From A Lover To A Friend – Paul McCartney

(Paul McCartney)
Piano ballads are the specialty of the most successful songwriter of all times. This is among his best ones, from the album Driving Rain (2001), in which he refers to his late wife, Linda, asking her to let him love again. Simplicity in its full grace.

10. Turbo Lover – Judas Priest
(Rob Halford-K.K. Downing-Glenn Tipton)
We close in high speed with Judas Priest in great shape from the album Turbo (1986). For the lovers of speed and fast cars...
