REM donates to Japan relief foundation

REM contributes track to to "Download to Donate" for tsunami and earthquake relief.

As posted on their official website, REM contributes to Japan relief donations. Since the devastating earthquake and tsunami of March 11, 2011, many artists have contributed to relief foundations.

Originally launched by Music For Relief just days after the Haiti earthquake, "Download to Donate" is a fund-raising campaign for "Save The Children" foundation. Through "Download to Donate", you can download 17 tracks, by donating 10 GBP or more. View the track-listing here.



Amongst many artists, REM has donated a live version of "Man on the Moon", recorded at their 2005 concert in Tokyo, Japan.

Children are always the most vulnerable in any disaster", said Charles MacCormack, president and CEO of Save the Children. “We are grateful this partnership with Music For Relief will help address the immediate and ongoing needs of children and families impacted by this emergency.
