The Flow Festival brand takes a new step in its internationalization as Flow Festival Ljubljana is organized in the Slovenian capital June 26–28.
In collaboration with Slovenian organizers, the Helsinki-based Flow Festival Ltd. has founded the sister festival Flow Festival Ljubljana. Like Helsinki's Flow, the newfound festival will focus on inspiring and current music, urban culture, visual arts, engaging services and an entertaining location. Local restaurateurs, breweries and wine producers will be responsible for the festival's food and drink offering. The Ljubljana festival is held in a unique tobacco factory milieu from the late 19th century.
Ljubljana has been named by the world tourist community as one of the most appealing European destinations, but has so far not had the opportunity to host a music festival of this stature. The inaugural Flow Festival Ljubljana aims to not just bring entertainment, but expand the cultural offer of the region and serve as a successful long-term platform for the artists, entrepreneurs and the local community.
Flow Festival Ljubljana expects visitors from Slovenia, and also neighboring Austria, Italy, Hungary and Croatia as well as the rest of German-speaking Europe, China, The UK and of course Finland. Flow Festival Helsinki will handle the new festival's international marketing, and will increase its activity in its PR focus countries Germany, the United Kingdom and Russia.
The lineup of Flow Festival Ljubljana already includes Pet Shop Boys, Róisín Murphy, Metronomy, Run The Jewels, Caribou, José González, Bonobo DJ set, Âme, Dixon, DJ Koze and Derrick May, as well as local and regional artists such as Bad Copy, Edo Maajka, Polona Kasal x KALU and Torul. The festival area in Tobačna mesto includes three venues, and the lineup will include over 30 acts. For the first Ljubljana Flow about 20,000 visitors are expected. The programming is led by Flow Helsinki's Artistic Directors Tuomas Kallio and Toni Rantanen together with the local team.
Flow Festival Ljubljana's 3-day Early Bird tickets will be available from March 4th for 85 euros. The 3-day ticket will be 95 euros from early April, when other ticket types will also come on sale.
