Needless to
say that we feared something like this would happen. Unfortunately, another big concert will not take place! Elvis Costello will not amaze us with his unique melodies on July 3 at the Terra Vibe theatre.
The reason is of course the low presale, as we are used to see this year in the corresponding official press releases. Yet I feel that this concert would have the audience needed in order for it to be "sustainable" financially speaking. People would decide at the last moment and this will be followed from here on. The day of the concert will be close, I will count my savings, I'll see if I can "make it" with my obligations of the respective month and will decide whether to go to the concert or not.
But how much can organizing companies wait for it to happen? In which concerts will they take the risk of waiting until the last moment? Probably in the classic Festivals, although I fear for some specific days and very big names such as Cranberries, Aerosmith etc.
I hope, although I fear I will, we won't have to write about the cancellation of another concert this summer.

Elvis Costello & the Sugarcanes concert is canceled
The Big Star Promotion announced that a planned concert by Elvis Costello & the Sugarcanes, on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Theatre TerraVibe Park, in Athens, will not take place.
The current unfavorable economic situation, has hurt the middle income, resulted in the low presale of tickets, making it impossible to carry out the above concert.
Those who have already bought tickets can go to Ticket House, 42 Panepistimiou (in the gallery), for reimbursement, from Friday June 11 2010.
The other concerts will be held following the program, which has already been announced.
Hours Ticket House:
Monday - Wednesday: 10:30 - 18:30
Tuesday - Thursday - Friday: 10:30 - 21:00
Saturday: 10:30 - 16: 00
