ΚΥΚΛΟΦΟΡΕΙ ΣΤΙΣ 15 ΙΟΥΛΙΟΥ
Στις 15 Ιουλίου οι Pet Shop Boys επιστρέφουν θριαμβευτικά με τον νέο τους άλμπουμ, “Electric”, την παραγωγή του οποίου ανέλαβε ο Stuart Price. Πρόκειται για το πρώτο άλμπουμ που θα κυκλοφορήσει από την νέα δική τους δισκογραφική εταιρία “x2” (μέσω των υπηρεσιών της Kobalt). Στην Ελλάδα θα κυκλοφορήσει από την Feelgood Records.
To “Electric” περιλαμβάνει εννέα κομμάτια συνολικά – 8 νέες συνθέσεις των Pet Shop Boys, καθώς και μια διασκευή στο “The Last to Die” του Bruce Springsteen. Το αποτέλεσμα είναι μια τόσο απρόβλεπτη συλλογή από dance anthems, που ποτέ ως τώρα, δεν έχουν ξανακάνει οι Pet Shop Boys.
Οι Pet Shop Boys δήλωσαν ότι το “Electric” είναι φτιαγμένο για το dance floor. «Το τελευταίο άλμπουμ μας εξελίσσεται συχνά ως αντίλογος απέναντι στο προηγούμενο άλμπουμ μας και, ενώ το «Elysium» είχε μια στοχαστική διάθεση, το «Electric» είναι αρκετά χορευτικό και ρυθμικό! Και η συνεργασία με τον Stuart Price σε ένα άλμπουμ μας είναι κάτι που θέλαμε να κάνουμε εδώ και πάρα πολύ καιρό».
Ο Stuart Price δήλωσε: «Δουλεύοντας το Electric είχα μια συναρπαστική εμπειρία. Το ηχογραφήσαμε μεταξύ Βερολίνου, Λονδίνου και Λος Άντζελες χρησιμοποιώντας διάφορες τεχνικές, από old school synth και drum machine programming ως new school computer mangling. Για μένα ήταν μια ευκαιρία να δουλέψω με δύο ανθρώπους που έχουν διαμορφώσει τόσο πολύ το μουσικό γούστο μου, ενώ συνεχίζουν να το εξελίσσουν, ακόμα περισσότερο, με ένα τόσο φυσικό και απροσδόκητο τρόπο»
Τον περασμένο Μάρτιο, ένα video teaser κυκλοφόρησε online για το “Electric”. Η μουσική που το «έντυσε» ήταν το “Axis”. Πρόκειται για το εναρκτήριο κομμάτι του άλμπουμ αλλά και το πρώτο single, που πλέον είναι διαθέσιμο online μαζί με το video http://smarturl.it/psbaxisvideo .
